Situated on the site of the former Derbyshire Royal Infirmary, Nightingale Quarter offers a range of new build homes and apartments, available to both buy and rent. With 800 properties being constructed it is one of the largest city centre regeneration sites in the UK, covering more than 18.5 acres.

Baynham Meikle have been the consulting civil and structural engineers for the project throughout both the design and construction phases. To deal with the variable levels on the site the large residential blocks have lower ground floor sections with retaining walls splitting this from the upper ground floor level. The substructure is piled with beam and block floors spanning between reinforced ground beams. Above ground floor level is a lightweight gauge steel frame selected for its speed of construction .
