Blythe Vale is a major residential scheme in Staffordshire Moorlands delivering 346 new homes across two phases and now nearing completion. Baynham Meikle provided the full civil and structural engineering design and consultancy for the development, guiding the project from early feasibility through technical approvals and construction delivery. Our scope covered site-wide infrastructure and highways, sustainable drainage (SuDS) and flood risk, earthworks and levels strategy, utility coordination, and the structural design of the dwellings and retaining structures.
We coordinated and secured the required technical approvals—S38/S278 for highways, S104 for sewers and LLFA drainage approvals—while preparing flood routing, adoption delineation and maintenance proposals that simplify handover and lifecycle management. By integrating above-ground SuDS features with the public realm delivering compliant, buildable details, we de-risked delivery and supported a phased, on-programme build-out.
